PROCESS AS DRAWING
Drawing is the recording of the intimate gestures of a body. All drawing correlates our movements with our mental clarity. As such drawing provides the one path to spiritual truth about life.
It takes time to draw a drawing. Because of our transparency, the way the drawing was formed is revealed. The materiality of the gestural act of drawing is made apparent. Therefore, the time required to make the drawing is communicated.
With this synthesis of gesture and time, the process of making a transparent drawing becomes part of the meaning. In our drawings, it is clear where lines start and stop. It is clear where planes and forms join and end. Our drawing then not only justify the resolution of a form. Our drawings also communicate the process of the gestural act of drawing.
This is where the hand started. This is where the hand stopped. This is the record of those physical movements. Transparent Drawings start with the body and then provide a summary of the body. On the paper, there is a visual correlation of the body’s thought and movement.
The greater the transparency of the drawing, the greater the correlation. The greater the holistic summary.
