SPACETIME ANALYSIS – 2

53-006 TRANSPARENT DRAWINGIt has been awhile since we did a Spacetime Analysis.   So I thought it would be fun to take a drawing that I like to see what sort of spacetime knowledge can be learned.  These are Self Generating Forms.  For a refresher on Transparent Drawing Spacetime, this page might be of help.

FEEDBACK LOOPThe drawing was done in Berlin.  The spirit and method of the drawing may have been inspired by the incredible energy that rubs off on you when you are in that city.  I’ve never done a drawing quite like this before.

The visual genesis of the drawing was the image to the left, which I found via my usual web image searches.  I was intrigued by the sense of writing that the lines created.  So I started drawing a series of free form lines which curve over each other.  I used that resulting geometry to form the orange shapes.   So this really was the employment of an open ended process:  I had no idea what the drawing would end up looking like.  I call this Self Generating Forms.

How did it do spacetime wise?

SPACETIME ANALYSIS

Seems to me that the essential spacetimes employed are Byzantine and Cubist.  The drawing does not have any coordinated projection system:  it is mystic.  The forms are completed, more or less, individually.  So the vanishing point, even if there is one, is within you.  The time of the drawing is very wide.  There is a 2D aspect to the swirling lines, so that brings in the Cubist Spacetime.  As we have said many times in these pages, Draw Like A Byzantine.  (Or, draw outside your culture.)    A Spacetime Analysis helps you do just that.

Quantification of Drawings.  Quantification of Architecture.  The potential is without limits.
